CHARACTERISTICS OF TRUE CHRISTIANITY

CHARACTERISTICS OF TRUE CHRISTIANITY

A New Birth (Regeneration, Born Again) is the First Essential Character of Christianity:

“Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God” (John 3:5 NKJV).

A Growth:

“but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen (2 Peter 3:18 NKJV).

A New Dress:

“I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels (Isa 61:10 NKJV).

A Radiant Life:

Build on the Rock (Luke 6:47-49): "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: (Matt 7:24 NKJV).

A Fellowship:

“And they said to one another, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?" (Luke 24:32 NKJV).

A Son-ship:

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12 NKJV).

An Education:

The Truth Shall Make You Free: “Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:31-32 NKJV).

A Character Building:

Build on the Rock (Luke 6:47-49): "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: (Matt 7:24 NKJV).

A Service:

“Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share,” (1 Tim 6:18 NKJV).

A Sacrifice:

Living Sacrifices to God: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” (Rom 12:1 NKJV).

A Walk:

“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him” (Col 2:6 NKJV).

A Warfare:

“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses” (1 Tim 6:12 NKJV).

A Race:

The Race of Faith: “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,” (Heb 12:1 NKJV).

A Victory:

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith” (1 John 5:4 NKJV).

An Assurance of Immortality:

“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (John 17:3 NKJV).
