CHRIST’S ATTITUDES TOWARD CHILDREN

CHRIST’S ATTITUDES TOWARD CHILDREN

INTRODUCTION

Jesus Christ loves little children, All the little children of the world, both colored white and black all are precious in His sight, Jesus Christ loves children of the world.
Jesus Christ loves children so much, though He did not have any when He was here on earth because He did not marry. People may ask “must one marry before he have children?”
Sure! Such is a good question. The Bible injunction says “sexual advances outside marriage are sin”. So if one has babies outside marriage, such is sin unless it is adoption.
But one can admire, appreciate children. Jesus Christ has love, compassion, concern and care on children. Let us take the lesson bit by bit.

JESUS CHRIST WAS GENTLE TO CHILDREN:

“He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, And carry them in His bosom, And gently lead those who are with young” (Isa 40:11 NKJV).

JESUS CHRIST PROMISED FOR KINDNESS DONE ON CHILDREN:

“And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward." (Matt 10:42 NKJV)

JESUS CHRIST USED A CHILD AS AN EXAMPLE:

“Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them” (Matt 18:2 NKJV)

JESUS CHRIST DECLARED THAT A CHILDLIKE SPIRIT IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL IN RELIGION (CHRISTIANITY)

“And said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven, Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one little child like this in my name receives me. (Matt 18:3-5 NKJV)

JESUS CHRIST WARNED AGAINST DESPISING CHILDREN:

“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." (Matt 18:20 NKJV)

JESUS CHRIST COMMENDS THE RECEPTION OF CHILDREN:

"Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me." (Mark 9:37 NKJV)
“But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.” (Mark 10:14-15 NKJV)

JESUS CHRIST OBSERVED LITTLE CHILDREN AS THEY WERE PLAYING:

"But to what shall I liken this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their companions”, (Matt 11:16 NKJV)

JESUS CHRIST COMMANDED THAT THEY SHOULD BE FED WITH THE SPIRITUAL FOOD:

“So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Feed My lambs." (John 21:15 NKJV)
