DEFAMATION OF JESUS CHRIST’S REPUTATION 


INTRODUCTION:

What is defamation?

Defamation, calumny, vilification, or traducement is the communication of a false statement that harms the reputation of, depending on the law of the country, an individual, business, product, group, government, religion, or nation. Wikipedia

The Bible has some portions in which Jesus Christ;s reputation was defamed. Please follow me to see the references.

Accused of Keeping Bad Company:

“And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, "Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?" (Matt 9:11 NKJV).

Accused of Gluttony and Intemperance:

“The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' But wisdom is justified by her children." (Matt 11:19 NKJV).

Accused of Blasphemy:

“Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, "He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy! 66 What do you think?" They answered and said,"He is deserving of death." (Matt 26:65 NKJV).

Accused of Insanity:

“But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, "He is out of His mind." (Mark 3:21 NKJV).

Accused of Being Possessed with Devils:

“The people answered and said,"You have a demon. Who is seeking to kill You?" (John 7:20 NKJV).

Accused of Breaking the Sabbath’s Day Law:

“Therefore some of the Pharisees said, "This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath." Others said,"How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?" And there was a division among them. (John 9:16 NKJV).

Accused of Treason:

“From then on Pilate sought to release Him, but the Jews cried out, saying, "If you let this Man go, you are not Caesar's friend. Whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar." (John 19:12 NKJV).
